Using the manual and external overrides

When the power’s out or your remote control fob won’t work, your manual or external override lets you regain access to your garage quickly and safely.

Lost your fob? Remote battery run out? Remote stopped working? That’s where your Garolla manual override steps in. It gives you a simple way to open your garage door, so you’re never stuck outside.

It’ll also cover you in a power cut, but the real peace of mind comes from knowing you’ve always got a backup.

If your garage is your only way in, you must have an external override fitted - that way you can always get inside when you need to.

Here’s how to use your manual override…

Internal Manual Override

External Manual Override

  1. Unlock the security cover using the key provided – this prevents unauthorised access.
  2. Remove the lock barrel cylinder.
  3. Insert the hex bar with folding handle into the gearbox.
  4. To open the door:
  5. Turn clockwise if the override is on the left-hand side (as you face the door).
  6. Turn anticlockwise if it’s on the right-hand side.
  7. Be patient – it may take several turns before the door starts to move.
  8. To close the door, turn in the opposite direction.
  9. Once finished, remove the hex bar, replace the lock barrel, and secure it with the key.

💡 If you ever find yourself inside the garage with an external override fitted, you can still crank the door open using the folding handle on the hex drive.
